His Angel: The Angel Trilogy Book One Page 9

My hand instinctively goes to Evan’s to offer my support through the difficult memory he’s shared. “I’m sorry Evan…” I want to say more, but I don’t know what to say. Maybe the support I do give would bring him comfort. I hoped. He turns his head as his eyes open and search for mine.

“I just realized that I don’t know what you do for a living,” I add to break the tension building. I hope his career isn’t a sore topic too.

He laughs at the surprised look I hold, realizing I don’t know something as simple as that.

“I work for the government,” he answers right away. Finally, I’m getting somewhere.

“That sounds very official.” I laugh. “I can’t imagine you being a Senator or government official. I guess there are a million other things someone can do for the government though. What do you do?”

“I can’t say, it’s top secret.” He winks and throws his head back giving me that deep hearty laugh.

Ah I love that laugh. My stomach jumps when he does that. He pops another piece of fluff in his mouth before I can ask the question I’m dying to know. He turns to me with ‘the Rock’ eyebrows.

“What? I didn’t ask anything.” I try looking confused, the smile that’s curved on his lips lets me know that Mr. Evan Young is on to me.

“Seriously Evan what do you do? I can’t keep hanging out with you if you’re going to hold out on me.” I try to pull off ‘the Rock’ eyebrows again.

He throws his head back again laughing at me.

“ATF. I’m an agent. I can tell you that much, but I can’t talk about the details. Ok? Are you ok with me never being able to talk about that?”

  “Holy crap that’s hot.”

There goes that laugh again. Damn this man has every single one of my nerves at attention.

  “Hot huh?” He smiles.

“Hell yeah it is. Do you wear those sexy pants, ya know with all the pockets?” I really want to see him in those pants. Yummy. Yummy. Yummy. Yep I have to see that ass in those pants. “Do you carry a gun? Do you have a gun on you now? What about handcuffs?” My face is heated. Handcuffs…Mmmm. I’m working myself into a hot mess.

“Mhmmm, I sure do. Would you like to see the handcuffs?” He tilts his head, watching me. I love it when he looks at me like he wants to devour me. So hot.

A HOT MESS. That’s going to be my official name when around Evan.

“Really, you would pull them out and show me? Maybe I can get a little demonstration of how they work. I’ve never seen real life handcuffs before.” I flutter my lashes.

“If you’re a good girl I’ll show you.”

“But Evan what if I’m a bad girl, a very, very bad girl?” A HOT liquid MESS. Yep that’s me.

My mother would kill me if she knew what her proper daughter has turned into.

“If you’re a bad girl then I’m going to have to put you over my knee and the handcuffs… Well those are definitely going to need to come into play at some point.” He shifts his body so that he’s facing me on the bench.

I shudder as I watch his lips string out the word come. He noticed my body give in to that word and a smile breaks on those full, pink, juicy yummy lips. SHAKE OUT OF IT.

  Geez Abby, what the hell?

“Where do you live?” I ask, realizing I don’t know that either.

Damn, I really don’t know anything about him. Well…I do know a few things. A wicked grin crosses my face.

“Not too far from you actually, on Margret Street.” He stands from the bench taking my hand, lifting me to my feet. “Come…We can do the twenty questions thing later, right now I want to feed you.”

I smile. I’m out of my mind with emotion for this man. I want to tell him, but the second I give over that emotional control, I’m done for.

The sun is falling as we arrive at the little mom and pop restaurant. I reach for the door forgetting that Evan is a perfect gentleman and insists on opening the door for me, but I’m completely capable of opening my own door so I continue.

  “Abigale,” he warns.

“I’m not incapable of opening my own door Evan.” I laugh.

He walks to the door, opening it as he speaks. “I know that, but I…prefer to do it. And besides, you’re a princess Abby, you should expect to be treated like one.” The words roll off his tongue like warm cream. This man thinks I’m a princess, he really is perfect. I smile.

The restaurant is busy, with lots of families eating and laughing. Small children are running around escaping from their tables as their parents chase them.

A small girl with dark playful hair in a cute pink dress runs into me as she laughs, running from her mom. She falls to her bottom and cries. I kneel down to her.

  “Are you ok?” I ask.

“Boo-Boo.” She rubs her forehead that she just ran into me with.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean for you to get hurt.” I smile and she smiles with me.

“Addyson, are you ok you silly girl?” her mom says as she picks her up. “I’m so sorry. She’s a very active two year old; I can’t keep her still for a minute and her twin sister is even worse.” She sighs.

I stand in shock, I think. Yeah it’s shock. This little girl’s name is Addyson and she’s a twin, just like me and my Addyson.

  “No problem.” I smile.

The mother picks her little girl up and heads for their table. I watch her tend to her little girls as I remember Addie and me running and playing and giving our mother a nervous breakdown. I lower my head at the memory.

  “Two?” the hostess asks.

“Yes,” Evan responds, taking my hand. “You ok?” His soft smile says he knows what’s going through my head.

We sit on the same side of the booth with our backs to the other guests.

“Very cozy.” Evan winks. “I always try to come here when I’m in the area. They have the best food.” His arm wraps around my body. I’m so small to his six-foot plus frame, it’s easy for him to devour me with his arms. I’ve never felt safer than I do when I’m in his arms.

“Do you get out this way often for your top secret job?” I giggle.

He playfully nudges me in response.

  “Smart ass.” He laughs.

“Well, it’s better to be a smart ass than a dumb ass,” I joke back.

  “Well you’ve got me there.”

“Can I get you something to drink? Wait…Abby is that you?” the waitress asks.

  I look up.

“Samantha? How are you?” I ask, surprised.

Samantha stands above us with her dishwater blonde hair pulled in a loose ponytail, pink t-shirt, jeans, and a black waitress apron. She’s in school to be an attorney and I’m surprised to see her here.

“I’m good, how are you? Gosh I haven’t seen you in forever,” she declares.

Samantha and I haven’t been close friends since about sophomore year in college, but when we were friends we were really close. I feel a ping of guilt for letting that friendship go.

“I’m sorry, Evan… Samantha, Samantha… Evan. I’m terrific actually.” I glance to Evan, mostly because he’s the reason I’m terrific and I see a very uncomfortable Evan, but I can’t quite put my finger on the reason.

She winks at me. She knows why I’m terrific, we could always finish each other’s sentences when we were friends. Two crazy girls that wanted to take the world by the balls.

“Are you still in law school?” My brows lift with curiosity.

“Um… I dropped out. It just isn’t for me. I’m moving soon anyway.” She shrugs with a half smile her eyes say something entirely different.

“Oh really? Where?” I ask, curious.

“Umm down south.” She nods her head as she answers.

Evan shifts in his seat, squeezing my hand. I eye him questionably.

“Hey maybe we can have coffee soon?” I ask, hopeful that we can mend our friendship before she moves.

We exchange numbers and she smiles as she walks away to retrieve our
drinks.

“I’ve got another one,” I spit out as I think of another question for Evan. “What’s your middle name?”

“Hey, I’ve got an idea, every time you ask me a question I get to kiss you somewhere.” And with that I’m a pool of warm liquid. This man has the deepest hottest effect on me.

The drive back to the city is quiet. I’m feeling the exhaustion of the day’s events catch up with me as I sink my body into the warm leather seats.

“Abby?” Evan reaches for my hand, pulling it to the console.

I drift off to sleep with the repetition of his thumb tracing circles on my knuckles.

“Abby, we’re here,” Evan announces, waking me from my slumber.

I sit up in my seat, stretching as a yawn breaks free. Our location doesn’t seem familiar as I look out the window.

“Evan where are we?” I ask, confused. I stretch my arms as I try to fully wake.

“My place. I want you in my bed Abby.” A shiver runs down my spine as he says those words.

“Wait, I have to work in the morning and I need clothes, I most definitely cannot work in this.” I jump and tug at my V-neck t-shirt.

“I’ll take you home early.” He’s interrupted by the ringing of my phone.

I reach in my cross-body bag and grab it. It’s Amy and I realize I haven’t heard from her since Saturday night.

  “Hey!” I answer.

“Where are you, doll?” she asks like a momma bear searching for her cub.

  “I’m with Evan,” I announce.

“You are such a tramp. When are you going to be home?” she asks, playful now.

I look to Evan as I answer. “Um…I think I will be back in the morning to get changed for work.”

“Oh my God you are a tramp.” She laughs harder this time. “See I told you, is it good?”

“Amy! Of course it is.” We both laugh so hard I almost pee my pants.

I really miss that crazy girl. I feel like I haven’t gotten to see her at all since she’s been back. Guilt washes over me now.

  “Tomorrow night, drinks?” she asks.

  “Absolutely, we need to...”

“Catch up? Most certainly. I need to know what my trampy bestie is up to.”

“I’ll call you tomorrow,” I hiss at her before Evan figures out what we are talking about.

  “Ciao.” She hangs up.

I look up and Evan isn’t in his seat. I didn’t notice him get out of the car. Realizing my door is open now, I turn my head and collide with his, his lips crash to mine. He’s a powerful force to be reckoned with and I’m ok with that. I am most definitely ok with that.

His hands pull my face closer while caressing my hair. His kisses make me feel alive everywhere. He moves his body in closer. I can tell by the force of the movements he has been holding back all day. My hands pull me to him from the passenger seat fisting through his thick hair. I want this here and now. My body trembles with need for him.

“Abby.” He speaks into my mouth as his tongue meets mine. A growl comes from his throat with need of his own.

Evan swiftly takes my body into his, slamming the door with his foot. He cradles me in his arms as he carries me into the sky rise apartment building. His lips never leaving mine.

“Mr. Young.” A deep voice speaks, but Evan continues kissing me.

My body hits the elevator wall as Evan pushes the button for his floor. My arms are around Evan’s neck, urging him closer.

“Evan.” I need his name on my lips. I need all of him on me, in me, everywhere.

  Chapter Nine

  Abby

The elevator dings, notifying us that we have arrived. Evan swiftly scoops me up once again. The area is large and the double doors in front of us are the only ones on this floor. I jump as the cherry wooden doors open without him even putting a key in or turning the knob. I have never seen anything like that before.

“Security card reader.” He nods to the wall.

I have absolutely no idea what that is or how it opens the door.

“I guess you take security seriously huh?” I tease.

“Yea something like that” he answers with an apathetic look on his face.

Evan sets me down on the floor as we enter the massive space. Beautiful is all I can think. Shiny, dark wooden floors flow beneath my feet. Tall ceilings are accented with beautiful lights. Dark walls and white trim. Floor to ceiling windows. The furnishings are grey with no color and in desperate need of a woman’s designer eye. But, I can’t deny the space is beautiful.

Evan’s hand slips from mine as he walks to the kitchen that sits to the right of the massive living space. I follow suit as I remove my ballet flats placing them against the dark wall. The floors are so clean I can’t bear to dirty them even though my shoes are clean.

My mom has instilled that wearing shoes in a home unless brand new or for a formal event is one of the dirtiest things you can do, and right now I appreciate that lesson.

The kitchen is spacious with cherry finish doors hanging from the cabinets and hidden appliances, well I’m assuming they’re hidden since I don’t see them.

Evan walks towards me, having grabbed us each a bottled water, before I entered the kitchen. His dimples are out to play now and the twinkle in his beautiful blue eyes say they want to play too.

“Do you like what you see?” he breathes as he leans against my ear.

I’m not sure if he’s referring to the apartment or himself, but it is most definitely a yes on both counts. His lips trail kisses from my earlobe to my collarbone. An involuntary moan escapes my mouth.

“Is that a yes?” He laughs at my response.

“Come, I want to show you the most important room of them all.” The wicked grin that sits on his lips says I’m about to get a tour, but it will not be of the bedroom; the bed maybe. Butterflies make their way to my stomach. I crave his touch and I’m more than ready to have it again.

We enter the large bedroom. I gasp at what I see. Large windows with silver drapes on the entire outside wall. The ceiling is what I can’t get over. A tray ceiling with lights illuminating the emerald green color that flows throughout. Small lights make an appearance from this beautiful green. I think it’s supposed to give the feel of the stars above. It’s glorious.

I search for Evan from where I stand once I come back down to earth. He’s near the window, placing something in the nightstand drawer. I walk to where he stands, taking in the view.

“This is amazing. I live in this city and have never seen this view before.” We can’t be very high up in the building, because I can clearly see pedestrians below, but nonetheless it is breathtaking.

Evan is behind me now, placing his arms around my waist, pulling me into his embrace. His head nuzzles into my hair as I hear him inhale the scent of my hair.

“You have no idea what you are doing to me Abby. What you have already done.” My heart takes a leap off of the cliff that is Evan.

He spins me around, taking my mouth into his. Evan’s kisses come from a deep, dark place that is solely reserved for pleasure.

My body presses up against the coolness of the glass, my legs embrace Evan’s waist. Evan’s body holds me in place with his right hand on my ass and his left taking my hands hostage above my head. I want to protest, I want to scream, and I want to touch him.

My head leans to the left in response to the surge of warmth I feel from Evan’s hardness. “Evan,” I whisper, barely getting the word out. I’m desperate to have him.

He finally let’s go of my wrist as he swiftly tugs my t-shirt over my head.

  “Yes,” I moan.

I’m ready, fire burns in my belly for this. The fire is going to ensure I implode, taking its release. Evan’s body devours mine, taking my breast into his hand with his own need. My full breast bounces to attention as he pulls the cup of my bra down. He easily lifts my body against the glass bringing my size D-breast to his mouth tracing my hard nipple, his tongue tracing circles,
leaving electricity and desperation in his wake.

Evan’s hot mouth never leaves my skin as he continues to lick and suck my sensitive aching body. The implosion is coming from every direction now.

“Abby…I have to have you…Fuck!” He breathes harshly against my mouth.

Finally, he’s going to give me what I want, what I need. Evan takes me into a secure hold, swinging me around to the bed. My hand wraps around his neck needing to have any contact I can.

I lie flat on my back now, my breasts full of need, waiting for Evan to claim them. His immaculate body hovers over mine as he slowly and seductively removes his t-shirt, tossing it to the floor. A smile breaks free and my body jumps to attention, fumbling with the button of his pants. A growl emerges from deep in Evan’s throat.

I reach for his manhood, taking him into my hands stroking his warmth up and down, slowly inserting him into my mouth as my tongue traces the head in a circular motion. His size is always overwhelming and a little scary, but I crave this. I’ve never been interested in this before and have probably only done this a handful of times. But with Evan’s body I would do things I never wanted to before.

I follow down to his waiting balls, inviting each one with my lips. His large cock stands at attention, wanting more. My lips wrap around him, sucking hard with fierce need. I begin to get my rhythm and Evan grabs on to my head for dear life, pushing me to him, ensuring I take every thick inch. He hits the back of my throat with the force of each thrust his hips make. I take everything he has, wanting more.

My aching spot between my thighs pulses, ready to explode. A smile threatens to interrupt as I realize I do have the control in this moment; the thrill shoots through me. It’s exhilarating to take him this way. My eyes lift through my lashes to see fire from Evan’s, they are dark, clouded, and sexy as hell.

  “Fuck,” he breathes.

I can feel his body tighten under my control. His body responds to the pleasure, he tries to fight the need to give up and give it all to me.

“Abby I can’t…Don’t stop…Oh fuck I’m going to come.” And with the next three thrust he loses the battle. I grip his ass with my left hand keeping him inside of my mouth. His body shivers in response. My mouth begs and demands every drop from him. I take everything he has.
